Erasmus Mobility For Studies
Requirements for participation
Only full-time students following CityU study programs (not Cardiff Met) in their second year of studies or later are eligible for participation. Non-EU students are also eligible but strict visa restrictions are applied.

Selection procedure
The Erasmus Committee will select the successful candidates based on academic performance, attendance in class, participation in campus activities and English language skills. Results are announced fifteen days after the deadlines. The responsible person for each department is found below.
Contact with receiving university
After the selection, the student’s Application Form, Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records are filled and send to the receiving university for approval.
Funding
The financial support consists of a monthly allowance and travel grant, calculated according to the following charts. Countries are divided in three groups:

According to the group, the student receives a monthly allowance:

According to the distance the student will cover from the sending institution to the host institution, they receive the following support:

Between 500 and 1999 KM | 275 EUR per participant |
Between 2000 and 2999 KM | 360 EUR per participant |
Between 3000 and 3999 KM | 530 EUR per participant |
Between 4000 and 7999 KM | 820 EUR per participant |
8000 KM or more | 1500 EUR per participant |
Online Linguistic Support
Participants must be aware that they have to complete the Online Linguistic Support assessment before and after their mobility abroad. This is mandatory for all participants except for those that will follow lectures in their mother language. Based on the assessment results, participants may be advised to take an online language course before and during their mobility, in order to improve their language competences.
Changes on learning agreement
If during the mobility the student wishes to make changes on their Learning Agreement, their sending and receiving department coordinators must be notified and approve the new version.
End of mobility and return to Cyprus
When the student returns to Cyprus, they must submit to the Erasmus Office the following documents:
- Attendance Certificate by the Receiving University for the period of study abroad
- Official Transcript of records or the Learning Agreement completed before and at the end of mobility
- Air ticket copy
- Boarding passes
- Student report
- The EU Survey (Online)
- The OLS language evaluation before and after the Erasmus period and the language lessons if started (Online)
Students with disabilities
Students with disabilities can also participate in the Erasmus+ programme and receive extra funding for their needs. For more information, contact the IRO office.
Erasmus Mobility For Placement
Requirements for participation
Only full-time students following CityU study programmes (not Cardiff Met) in their first year of studies or later are eligible for participation. Non-EU students are also eligible but strict visa restrictions are applied. Students can also have a traineeship up to one year after their graduation.
The receiving organization can be a public or private organization, a company, a research centre, a school, an institute etc. It cannot be an embassy or an EU institution. Students are responsible for contacting the companies or organizations that interest them.
Complete the application form
Students applying for traineeship mobility must complete the following application form and send it to the Erasmus Office Coordinator.

After the selection, the student’s Training Programme and Learning Agreement for Traineeship are filled and signed by the three parties (student, sending organization, receiving organization). The students need to prove that they have medical, liability and accident insurance.
